Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer Bikini Contest Review
Today I shall share my thoughts on the Color Icon Bronzer in the shade “Bikini Contest”. The name is pretty interesting? This range has three shade, the other two were quite light for my Indian skin tone so I picked the darkest one. I have been using it every now and then, Read on to know how it fared.
Price: Rs 1100 Approx. on ebay
It comes in a compact like case but it’s a little bulky. A domed cover, no mirror, no brush this is not something I would carry in my make-up bag. Accidently while clicking picture, the pack fell down and the powder cracked. This cracks easily so I guess it’s not safe to use while travelling. Shattering of the product in the pan is the only disappointment I have faced with this product. I have fixed it using rubbing alcohol.
The shade “Bikini Contest” is a pretty medium-dark bronzed shade with orange undertones. It has soft sheen to it but doesn’t have chunky sparkles. The shade is perfect for Indian skin tones since we have warmer undertones. It doesn’t look un-natural after blending.
You can use it as a blush or even as a bronzer and I love it both ways. It gives a nice sun kissed coralish kind of look which looks really pretty. It enhances my skin tone which making me look washed out or pale.
The texture has few light sparkles which add a light natural sheen to face. It’s not at all shimmery of any of you is worried about looking like a disco ball. It gives semi-matte finish with light natural sheen. If you don’t like the semi-matte finish then you can use setting powder over it to make it completely matte. It blends easily on bare skin and even over a foundation. The velvety smooth texture makes it easy to blend in. SPF 15 gives added advantage.
The staying power is pretty amazing and every after a full day (7 hours) when I come back home I can still see light color on my face. You don’t need touch up after particular interval which is kind of irritating. I guess it’s perfect for special occasions and as the wedding season is on I would highly recommend it.
Summing up the Pros and Cons:
- Huge quantity
- Long wearing
- Perfect for sun kissed look
- Adds natural sheen
- Has SPF 15
- Perfect for Indian skin tones
- Can be used as a blush as well
- Gives semi-matte finish
- Slight shimmers so it gives semi-matte finish
- Packaging isn’t travel friendly
Final Verdict: If you are scared of trying bronzer because they look unnatural then this is a must try. It gives that natural sun kissed look with slight sheen without making you look over-the-top. The texture is amazing and it stays for more than 7 hours. If you can get your hands on it the n do try and I’m sure you’ll not regret.
