As you know that I had got invited to attend the Za Beauty School with the beauty expert Megumi Mistsui. She is a prolific beauty expert from the house of Shiseido. Lots of my readers have requested to share my experience about attending the school. So here I am sharing my experience with all you lovely ladies.
The House of Shiseido presents Za Beauty School – an exclusive experience with Za’s high skin expertise of Za and Japanese “Omotenashi” [Hospitality].
The event was scheduled in Vivanta by Taj in Cuff Parade, Mumbai. We reached almost half an hour late (Ahhhhh, you know the Bombay traffic. It sucks big time) but thanks to people who were on Indian Standard Time, the event did not start by the time we reached. So we didn’t miss anything. Phew 😆 !! The event started at 12.30 pm with a nice speech from one of the Brand Representatives of the house of Shiseido. He gave a nice introduction of who Megumi is! Well, I must say she is adorable.. She is having almost 18 years of experience with the house of Shiseido 🙂
She was talking in Japanese, of course translator was with her 😎 . We were given a table where every product from the newly launched “Za” range was arranged in a pretty manner.
She had started with QnA session where she asked that whether anybody knew what is the span of skin cell renewing cycle. And everyone was telling their random answers of 1-20 days. But the actual answer is 42 days which is quite a period. That is the reason that we need to take care of our skin on daily basis.
Then she moved on to explain the difference of the skin type (Normal, Dry, Oily & Combination) using a Number Line System (Using the Skin Identification diagram) . The suggested Product Range for the requisite skin types were also mentioned on the Diagram.
In the session Megumi started with the Basics as to how to wash the face till the end which is how to apply the foundation. It was pretty informative. She picked up one “model” from the crowd and started washing her face. She measured the moisture level of the model’s skin with a thermometer look a like instrument 😆 . It was 32.6. Tip – while washing always keep one point in mind that lather up the face wash on your palm and then apply it to your face so that there will be protective cover between your fingers & face, or else it will make your skin dry. Then she took a creepy looking face mask tissue & asked us to fold it until it fits in your fist & applied toner on that. She then asked us to put that face mask on our face. Tip – Always apply toner on a tissue first & then put that tissue on the face for at least 5-15 mins.
Don’t you think the “model” was looking creepy. 😀 The Diagram on the slide is of their revolutionary MSK4 Ingredient which is patented by them after being developed inhouse after the research of 13 long years. A Myth related to WHITE skin was revealed by Megumi that “Higher the SPF means Higher the Protection” is Incorrect. Basically Higher SPF means that it will protect your skin for a LONGER Duration and not higher harmfulness of the sun. That’s why people should apply low SPF creams as higher the SPF higher the powder content in that lotion and thus higher are the chances of your pores getting clogged using that lotion.
The next step would be applying the day cream. Take small amount of cream & apply on the high points of the face i.e. forehead, temple of cheeks, nose & chin. Apply it in outward direction. She then again measured the moisture level of the model’s skin. It was 51 compared to 32.6 previously. This shows that taking proper care of skin is utmost important to maintain the moisture level & healthy looking skin. She then applied the foundation on the “model”. & the session concluded.
Overall, I think I have learned quite a tricks about skin care specially how to wash the face & apply the toner. I have tried these & believe me it actually does make a difference in the texture of the skin.
We were given extremely yummmmmy Japanese Tea, I know you must be thinking how Tea can be yummy.! But trust me if you will ever get a chance to drink that tea you will know my feeling 😎 . Since then I am just searching for that fruit, Yuzu, from which the tea was made. I am a big big sucker for citrus-sweet tea.. They are such a stress buster 😆 . & then there were nice refreshments.
So to conclude I like the event & I am loving “Za” products as well 😎 .
