Hey Everyone ♥,
This is a guest post (#1) by Ms. Krupa.
Hope you Love Reading it!
A Lil introduction about me : “My name is Krupa. I’m just your average Indian woman. My first love is dance and that’s how the love for makeup came about. I write like I talk. I believe that style and fashion are how we interpret it. My blog IshtyleAwhile records my journey through makeup and fashion with excerpts from my life thrown in. I love indian wear and try to focus on what the modern Indian woman is looking for in her wardrobe. I believe that Style is what you make of it.”
First of all I would like to thank Bhumika for giving me the opportunity to write for The Metro Beauty.
Today I have a review on the newly launched Streetwear Lipsticks.
Price: 180 INR
A simple sturdy tube with a very cute graphic art on it. The top is see through, so you can see the colour of the lipstick. The name of the lipstick is on the bottom. The cap closes with a click and so there is no worry about it opening when you are travelling with this lipstick. The one thing I don’t like about this lipstick is the fact that the lipstick bullet doesn’t sit completely inside the case. This is a problem because if you don’t close it carefully the cap will nick the bullet. (I have managed to do that several times).
Like the name, Pink Persuasion suggest, it is a pink lipstick and you may need a little persuasion to try it as it looks pretty bright in the tube. If you have very pigmented lips this may look toned down on you. On my lips, it translates into a wearable pink which is bright but not bright such that you will freak out your colleagues during a meeting. You would need two swipes to get a nice opaque colour.
The finish and staying power:
Streetwear claims that the lipsticks are ultra moist. They are moist, but not ultramoist. I still need to use a lip balm under it. It doesn’t hydrate the lips but it doesn’t dry them out as well. The finish of the lipstick has a bit of sheen, kind of like a semi matte finish, but not glossy. The staying power is not the best. You can get about 2-3 hours if you don’t eat anything, but if you drink or eat anything, then the lipstick is completely wiped off. It fades off evenly over time. If you have layered will leave a stain after a while.
It takes a few seconds to settle onto to your lips. It may accentuate cracks or dry lips. For me it just sits in the fine lines but doesn’t accentuate them.
- Sturdy packaging
- Semi matte finish
- Doesn’t dry the lips
- Doesn’t last for long and needs to be reapplied.
- The bullet sticks out a little and gets nicked every time I close the cap.
Rating: 4/5. I wish it lasted longer.
Recommendation: If you want to try different shades at a low price, then this is the range to look at.
