Stila Convertible Color Peony Review
Stila blushes are known as the best blushes and when I saw them at Sephora I knew I had to buy them. I bought “Stila convertible color-peony” because I love 2-in-1 products. Today I’ll review it for you all, Read on to know how it fared.
Price: Rs 1560 for 4.25 gm (Available at Sephora India)
Stila’s ingenious lipstick and blush-in-one proves to be irresistible. As seen in In Style’s Best Beauty Buys 2008! A versatile favorite, it brightens cheeks and lips with creamy, translucent color. The sheer tint adds an inherent glow to the cheeks while lips bloom with fresh, radiant color. This two-in-one compact holds the key to easy, monochromatic makeup.
Stila convertible color comes in small compact size container. The packaging is small and compact so it’s great to carry around for touch-ups or while travelling. The packaging doesn’t have a mirror but I anyway carry a small mirror along in my bag so I don’t have any issue. Overall, the packaging is cute, convenient and pretty.
The color “peony” is a very beautiful neutral rosy shade without any shimmers. The shade is like peachish nude (if you know what I mean) and looks so natural on my medium complexion. I just love the shade especially on my cheeks. On my lips, I don’t like the shade much as it makes me look sick and washed out. But on my cheeks, I just love love love it. It looks so natural and it’s really good for daily use as it gives you no-makeup look instantly. The creamy texture is quite smooth and it spreads easily without much efforts. I just dot it on my cheeks and then blend it with my fingers whenever I’m in a hurry. I have tried blending it with brush and fingers and according to me it gives more natural look when blended with fingers. The texture is lightweight and it doesn’t enhance pore-size at all. I have combination skin but I still love creamy products because of the no-powdery look they give. The shade is averagely pigmented which is great for beginners like me and you can build the shade accordingly.
When applied on lips, you need a lot of products because the pigmentation is not that good. The formula is also not good for lips, even when my lips are completely hydrated and exfoliated it makes them drying. After one hour it starts setting into fines lines and looks very bad on my lips. Moreover, the color also looks quite different on my lips. It looks nude and washes me out. I didn’t really enjoy using it on my lips and now I have stopped using it on lips.
On my cheeks, it last up-top 7+ hours which is really very commendable. I wear it in the morning around 10am and when I come back home at 6pm, it’s still there not bright but I can still spot it. On lips it stays for 3 hours, if the shade suits you then you can also use it on lips.
- Shade is very pretty
- Gives natural wash of colors
- Can be used as blush or lipstick
- Universally flattering shade and perfect for all occasions
- Color payoff is good and it’s buildable
- Blends easily
- Smooth texture
- Gives matte finish without accentuating open pores
- Stays for more than 5 hours on cheeks
- Fades within 2 hours from lips
- Washes me out when used on lips
- Not a dual product
Final Verdict: Stila convertible color-peony is a natural rosy nude shade and it looks natural on cheeks. The texture is amazing, the formula is lightweight and it stays for more than 7 hours. But it’s not a dual product because on lips, the color looks washed out, the texture feels drying and it fades within 2 hours. I love it as a Blush, but hate it on my lips.
