Real Techniques Starter Kit Review
I’m Ankita, a regular follower of this blog. I would like to contribute to this blog and today I’ll review for you a set of eye brushes, the Real Techniques Starter Kit, which I got because I was not ready yet to spend a bomb on Mac brushes.
Name of the Product:
Real Techniques Starter Kit
I paid somewhere around Rs1600 for the set .
The kit comprises of five brushes, a brow brush, a fine liner brush, an accent brush, a deluxe crease brush and a base shadow brush. The handles or the ferrules are purple and black in colour and the bristles are black and white. The bristles are all made of taklon, hence cruelty free.
The brow brush is my absolute favourite. It is shaped like an angled eyeliner brush. The bristles are densely packed and firm but are soft at the same time. Using this, I am able to do my eyebrows in a matter of seconds. It’s so convenient to hold. I tried using this to apply gel eyeliner, but it’s a bit too thick for that.
The fine liner brush, in my view is not that fine. In fact, each time I try using this for applying liquid eyeliner, I tend to mess up my eye makeup as I have tiny eyes. This brush is the most unused of the lot.
The accent brush is shaped like a shader brush but is tiny and the handle thin. The bristles are dense but pliable, if you know what I mean. I use it to highlight the inner corner of eyes and also, the area below the brows. I also use this brush to conceal spots. I’m fond of this brush and reach out for it often.
The deluxe crease brush is a round brush and a bit too fat to fit in the crease in my opinion, unless you have as huge eyes as the corpse bride had. But I have found it to be useful in numerous other ways. The bristles are dense but not firm and I use it for blending concealer in the under eye area. I also use it to apply cream shadow over my lids. I use it brush away the shadow fallouts. I even use it to contour my nose. I absolutely adore this brush.
The base shadow brush is a dome shaped, flat brush, not densely packed, extremely pliable. It is more of a blending brush in my view, but can be used for applying shadow to the lids.
Overall, I think it’s a nice kit. If you don’t want to spend a fortune on Mac or Sigma brushes get this one.
- All brushes are multifunctional.
- Cheaper compared to other brands.
- Cruelty free.
- Made of taklon, hence easy to clean.
- The eyeliner brush could have been a bit finer.
