I am over the moon to share with you all, our first “Guest Review Post“…
By Ms. Porci Marcel,
Enjoy the Post…!
This is my first post in TMB and in the blog industry and I am very much excited to be a part of this blog.
Skin type: Combination skin
Coming to the review:
What Maybelline describes about the product:
Revolutionary whipped formula provides air soft, perfect matte finish coverage with a weightless feel
- Color pigments offer superior coverage
- Blends effortlessly for a soft, natural looking and even toned result
Price: Rs 600 for 18g in Health & Glow outlet at Velachery, Chennai
When I was looking for a better coverage foundation, the Maybelline SA pushed me to buy this and she suggested that it would give a light coverage to the face hiding blemishes and making skin tone even.
So I suggested her to show the shades present in the foundation and she suggested that Beige would suit my skin tone and many shades were present
- Honey Beige
- Pure Beige
- Sandy Beige
- Natural Ivory
- Classic Ivory
She gave me ‘Pure Beige – Medium 2’ shade to try on my hand. I told her to apply it on my face rather than on my hand.
Texture: It looks like soft cream mixed along with foam and it is very light
Package: It comes in a thick transparent glass jar with a plastic screw cap. The packing is really travel friendly and you can see the shade by looking through the jar; but little bulky (cannot fit it in a small purse) and jar packing is always unhygienic 😐
A little amount is enough to apply for the whole face and neck. It cannot be applied with brush as the consistency is not good enough to be taken by a brush. Hence we can apply it with our fingers for smooth application. You can also use a sponge, but most of the product gets stuck to the sponge.
For oily and combination skin people, moisturizer is not needed, but for dry skin people, moisturizer is must! Using a powder above is purely optional!!! It might give a more even complexion look.
Place the amount in dots all over the face and neck and apply. It provides medium coverage which can hide small imperfections, hide blemishes and give an even skin tone. If you don’t apply it with extreme care your face and neck will look distinct from your body tone.
The foundation lasts for 4 to 5 hours in an AC environment, but for outside, it will last for 2 to 3 hours. A small amount will go for a long time. It has not given me any stinging effect or skin break outs. But there is no SPF, so you need to apply a sunscreen before using this foundation
- Gives Natural finish
- Lasts for 3-4 hours
- Good variety of Shades available
- Much Reasonable cost (as compared to other higher end brands)
- Available in stores and online without difficulty
- Not suitable for those with dry skin.
- No SPF
- Bulky and Tub packaging. The 18 grams of mousse is light. It’s the jar which is fat! (See Image)
- Sometimes it leaves white lines over skin, so should blend it cautiously.
- Cannot be used with a brush.
My Overall Rating: 3 / 5
