Post by Dhara,
I already reviewed a tinted sunscreen from Lotus herbals before and this is yet another gem from them. They make some of the best sunscreens especially for oily skin types.
Price– Rs 295 for 50g.
Lotus Herbals Says– An innovative sunblock which is totally non oily and provides a fresh and clean finish to the face, neck and hands. It protects against all forms of sun induced damage: skin tan, sun burn, premature ageing and skin cancer. Contains extracts horse chestnut, comfrey and vanilla. For normal to oily skin.
- Ultra Soothing
- Oil Control
- Matte Look
- Almost Vanishes from Skin
- Gel Base
My Experience with Lotus Herbals UV Screen Matte Gel SPF 50
The packaging is very much similar to most of their products, it comes in a bright orange tube with a flip cap and is very sturdy you can easily throw it in your handbag. The sunscreen is a transparent white colored gel. It has a mild cucumber fragrance to it.
The texture of the gel is very light and feels soothing, it is not too thick and absorbs quickly within spreading it on skin. It goes on completely clear and leaves behind no white cast. Despite of being a gel product it does not feel sticky or even greasy and settles down to a natural matte finish which is a boon for summers. It is oil free and I have not suffered from any breakouts with prolong use. It is moisturizing enough for summers as I anyways don’t like layering too much products, for winters I like suing a separate moisturizer with it.
The most important thing it has SPF 50 and provides complete sun protection due to the Pa+++ factor. My skin is very much prone to tanning and slight burning when I am out for too long but this sunscreen effectively protects that, like any sunscreen reapplication every 3 hours is necessary to ensure complete protection from the harsh rays of sun. Compared to the tinted version I like this tad better simply because it works well under makeup as well. I am using this sunscreen from past 2 years now and it is an absolute must have for me during summers. Summing up-
- Oil free, gel based sunscreen.
- Non greasy non sticky texture.
- Suitable for all skin types including oily and acne prone.
- Settles to a matte finish.
- Protects against UVA and UVB rays with high SPF of 50.
- Prevents tanning.
- Does not leave behind white cast.
- Sturdy packaging.
- I have no cons with this one 🙂
Overall Rating: 5/5
Lotus Herbals UV Screen Matte Gel SPF 50 is one of the best summer sunscreens for oily skin I have come across so far. I cannot recommend it enough, if you haven’t tried it yet, then try one soon.
