Post by Dhara,
These days Indian market is flooded with all sorts of BB and CC creams and they make perfect base for everyday light makeup. Lakme Complexion Care Cream – CC Cream has been around since quite a while now but I tried it recently only since I already had many other BB creams in my stash but was curious to try a CC cream.
Price– Rs 250
Lakme Says– Want to do make up but still don’t want to look overdone? The solution – Lakme Complexion Care Cream. Perfectly amalgamating the goodness of your daily cream with just the right hint of make-up, Lakme CC cream gives you a flawless radiant look. It acts like your very own stylist and delivers an instant brightening effect.
My Experience with Lakme Complexion Care- CC Cream:
Firstly the packaging is really attractive it comes in a sleek beige tube with a silver cap. It is perfect for on the go and easy to use. The tube has a very tiny hole to dispense precise amount each time. The CC Cream comes only in two shades beige and bronze, the lighter shade beige is best suited for light skin tones and bronze for medium to slightly darker skin tones. There are no shade options for darker skin tones. I have the second shade bronze which is a bit warm for my skin tone but blends in well. It has SPF 20 which is great.
The cream is of medium thick consistency and spreads easily. It has citrus fragrance which I am not a fan of and it lingers around for a good 5-10 minutes even after application. The texture is very light and it blends in easily with fingers, just a few dabs here and there and it is blended seamlessly which makes it perfect for those days when we have least time to get ready and are rushing out the door 😀 I really like the finish it lends to my skin it never feels heavy and sets to a natural matte finish giving an appearance of second skin.
Coverage wise it gives light to medium coverage but it works very well in the color correcting aspects, only little amount is required each time. One layer evens out skin perfectly hiding any minor discolorations, it can easily be layered wherever more coverage is needed. It also conceals slight under eye darkness and brightens up the skin. The formula is moisturizing enough for oily skin but dry skin will need a layer of moisturizer underneath for smooth blending. For oily skin a setting powder cannot be skipped as after about 2-3 hours of wear my skin starts looking a bit oily and shiny especially in the t-zone. Frequent touch ups with some power are required to keep skin matte for long. It lasts for around 6 hours on my skin before fading. Summing up-
- Sleek Packaging.
- Light texture.
- Very easy to blend.
- Gives a natural skin like finish.
- Decent coverage.
- Brightens up the skin.
- Contains SPF 20.
- Did not cause breakouts.
- Price is very affordable.
- Only 2 shades are available.
- I don’t like the citrus fragrance it has.
- Needs frequent touch ups with powder.
- May not work very well for oily skin in summers.
Overall Rating: 4/5
