The Most Awaited, The most Requested : “How to Dress For a Wedding“…
Enjoy Dressing Up 🙂
Hello Lovelies 🙂
On Special request I’m going to tell you how to dress for the whole wedding functions & also showcase how I had dressed up for my BFF’s wedding a year or so back. Had the time of my life, although no doubt was hectic too 😛
The main four functions are the mehendi, haldi, sangeet/ cocktail, wedding & reception.
Mehendi & Haldi being day functions choose lighter colors & not very heavy suits so that you can leave that scope for the wedding & reception function clothes.
For Mehendi most importantly have your hair tied up as your hands will not be free to able to fidget with loose hair!
Braids are the perfect bet for this kind of a function. If it’s a north Indian wedding definitely add on a Parandi 😀
Try this out– Extended eyeliner looks great for the eyes!
Haldi too again can be a little messy affair especially when you are the BFF or a family member of the bride, as you have to help the bride. Open hair just makes it cumbersome, so tie up the hair!
Use a hair accessory with your hair pony to add a different touch & make a simple pony look elegant too.
Tip- avoid very light coloured suits on the haldi function to avoid staining from haldi!
Makeup try this out- Bright colour eye shadow only on the corner of the eyes & light coloured lipstick.
Cocktail function– wear a beautiful yet simple lehenga like one with embellished borders & plain colour looks great too.
I love dancing so I opted for a designer suit where the dupatta was attached with the suit itself one sided & was comfortable yet very fashionable!
Because of all the dancing kept my hair half pinned up with a puff (different from the haldi & mehendi look) curled the rest of the hair (with a curling tong) for a totally different look.
Makeup was a dark eye shadow look with a bright pink lipstick.
The Wedding day was even more chaotic than I had expected & was very Happy that I wore an anarkali & not a saree because as her only bff I had to do all the running around & was literally by her side 24/7 helping her walk with her 7kg lehenga!
Worn a full embroidered anarkali with heavy jhumkis.
Hair made a messy side bun with my natural curls 😀
Makeup was smokey eyes & had even worn coloured lenses!
Reception is the time you can dress up the most as all the hard work is over & it’s time to enjoy!
Got my hair blowdried with curls at the ends & pinned it up side swept
Wore a lehenga saree for the reception function as they are very much en vogue! Of course it also saves you the trouble of draping a saree 😛
Maang tikka is what I used as the major accessory for this look.
Makeup was gold and blue eyes along with red lips!
Hope you all liked the looks and will now manage at all the wedding functions! Sincere apologies for not having more pics as I was too busy running around to get pics clicked earlier plus I wasn’t supposed to be the centre of attention 😛
Be Yourself & Shine On ♥
Happy Dressing… 🙂 Thanks for Visiting..
