Colorbar Perfect Match Primer Review
I have been wanting to try a makeup primer since a while now but always hesitated from the fear of breaking out as they are silicone based. But finally with the festive season around I decided to give the colorar perfect match primer a shot.
Price- Rs 825 for 30ml.
Colorbar Says- This satiny touch oil free primer masks the fine lines and uneven texture, making skin marvelously soft and smooth. For application Dab on a little all over face for smoothening surface or use before concealer and foundation for perfect complexion and lasting effect
Ingredients- Cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone crosspolymer, tocopheryl acetate, isododecane, neopentyl glycol diheptanoate, propyl paraben.
Packaging –The primer comes housed in a really sleek white clear tube which is inverted with a silver cap. The tube comes in a reflective silver box. It has a thin nozzle to dispense the product, overall I quite like the packaging.
My Experience with Colorbar Perfect Match Primer:
As I said before this is the first primer I have ever tried and quite like how it feels on the skin. It has a clear thick gel like consistency which spreads and glides very smoothly on skin and has a slippery feel initially but after a minute or two it settles down to more of a soft matte finish. It kind of gives a blurred look to any imperfections on face like large open pores, fine lines if any. My skin instantly feels much smoother and softer.
Because of the really smooth feel any products I apply on top of it glide very easily, and I notice I need little less amount of foundations, bb creams I am using. The major reason I picked this primer was to help with the large open pores I have around my nose and of course to make the makeup last for longer on my really oily skin. It does a good job of creating a smooth and even base but does not do anything much in reducing the pore size. As far as the staying power goes it keeps my makeup in place for longer than usual with minimal fading and it looks fresh and matte for longer which is boon for oily skin.
The fact that it has never given me any breakouts so far is always a plus. Price is a bit on the higher coming from colorbar and also the fact that they keep on increasing prices every now and then but trust me I only need a pea sized amount every time or even less, which makes it worth the price.
- Nice and Sleek Packaging.
- It did not cause breakouts on my skin.
- Keeps makeup fresh and matte for long.
- Extends wear time.
- Gives a very smooth base for products to glide on.
- Blurs the looks of imperfection to an extent.
- Little goes a long way.
- Oil free.
- Does not minimize look of open pores.
- Has Parabens.
- Slightly pricey.
- It is silicone based, hence may not work for everyone.
Overall Rating: 4/5
If you are looking for a decent primer for a smooth base and for makeup to look matte and last longer than this is a great primer to try, but if large pores are your concern then this will not be of much help!
